Arto's debut, Because Why, a unique and unusual comedy, enjoyed a very favorable reception and numerous awards in Europe and Japan. Cosmos, a project with five other filmmakers, took the award at Cannes' Quinzane and the best picture nomination at the Genies. Two Thousand and None with John Turturro, received a FIPRESCI special mention at Taormina, along with many other accolades. Arto looks forward to directing Cockroach, an adaptation of Rawi Hage's novel he's currently completing.
